Phil Baker is an expert in all aspects of product development and market development , with extensive experience in building strategic partnerships in the Far East and utilizing Far East resources for cost-effective and fast-to-market product development and manufacturing. He has been a major contributor to the field of handheld computing and has a strong, varied background in business and product strategy in the high-technology sector.
Phil has played key roles in developing the innovative flagship technologies and products of many leading companies. He developed and implemented both product and market development strategies for Apple Computer, Seiko Instruments, Polaroid, Polycom, Proxima, Think Outside and others. He co-founded Think Outside, inventor and manufacturer of the most popular PDA accessory ever— the Stowaway folding keyboard . At Seiko, Phil managed product development of consumer and computer products. At Apple, he led development of the second- and third-generation Newton MessagePads , served as director of Entry PowerBooks and orchestrated Apple's development and manufacturing strategy in Taiwan for portable products. At Polaroid, Phil contributed to the development of dozens of products, including the SX-70 camera , professional and consumer cameras, ID systems and more. Phil holds more than 30 patents, principally related to cameras, photometry, optical designs and devices, including a teleconferencing projector.

Phil currently provides consulting services in both product and market development and writes the technology column for The San Diego Daily Transcript, San Diego's daily business newspaper. Phil was recognized by Ernst & Young, in 2000, as San Diego's Entrepreneur of the Year for Consumer Products.
